Make a difference: Volunteer at Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital
Tempe, AZ July 1, 2008 – Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital needs motivated, caring individuals to serve as volunteers in a variety of areas including patient services, gift shop and business departments. Currently, the hospital has openings in the gift shop and patient services departments during the weekday mornings, weekday evenings and weekends.
It’s easy to become a volunteer and the benefits are fantastic. A person must be 14 years of age and work four hours per week at the hospital to serve as a volunteer. Positions are available for morning, afternoon and evening shifts seven days a week.
Volunteering at Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital brings with it many benefits including helping others in need, free polo shirt uniform, free meal voucher for each shift worked, and free flu vaccinations.
“At Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital, we rely on our volunteers to add to the patient experience and help in many of the functional areas,” says Amy Howell, Director of Human Resources and Volunteer Services. “Whether a person is looking to give back to the community, learn about the healthcare profession or both, we have opportunities for them to serve.”
Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital, an IASIS Healthcare facility, offers a full range of services including emergency, surgical, wound care, diagnostics, and pain management in a caring, community hospital atmosphere. The 103-bed Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital has been serving the East Valley for more than 60 years. For more information about the hospital, visit www.tempestlukeshospital.com.
